LIVE REVIEW: Whitesnake – 4/15/19 @ The Bomb Factory, Dallas, TX

David Coverdale has been rocking and rolling for the better part of 50 years and Whitesnake is not your typical 80’s hair metal band. I knew that the band was going to hit the stage and the songs that defined a whole generation of musicians and rock fans were going to hit us all like a speeding train. David Coverdale provided an energy that would be surprising for a man half his age and his vocals were excellent on every song. The band was filled out by longtime guitarist Reb Beach and drummer Tommy Aldridge, along with musicians that have joined over the past decade, keyboardist Michele Luppi, bassist Michael Devin, and guitarist Joel Hoekstra.

The band is currently on tour supporting their upcoming album Flesh & Blood due May 10th 2019. Their set was a mix of classics and songs from the new album which fit together well and provided something to new and old fans alike. The crowd was full of energy and sung along to every lyric of the songs they knew and cheered loudly for the songs they were hearing for the first time. Overall, Whitesnake was firing on all cylinders. This is a can’t miss show for anyone that grew up in the 80’s or just loves well played hair metal. I would highly recommend checking them out when they come through your town.

  1. Awful, and i’m a huge Coverdale fan from way back in Purple.. He could barely sing as his band mates or the audience did most of it for him in Verona NY last night. Band was very loose and at times i couldn’t even recognize the songs. The new stuff is very much the same and very basic and his guitarists are the dime a dozen type. Very disappointed with the set list and the entire show to be honest. Time to hang up touring David.. I’m sure you’re fine in the studio, but the rigors of the road have passed you by.
